Real time Deep Packet Inspection at point of data capture.

Problem: Even with traffic filtering applied at the tap, too much information may be passed to your monitoring devices. On the one hand, this may be in breach of your compliance rules; on the other hand, during a specific investigation or target monitoring project, you may be cluttering up your devices with irrelevant data.

Solution: VSS Monitoring's ObjectFinder™ taps provide real-time line-rate hardware-based deep packet inspection and filtering of traffic . The ObjectFinder product series allows users to find specified objects (keywords) within a packet, which can then be coupled with source and destination data (and/or other criteria)
to create a precise framework for matching and retrieving live network traffic for security and monitoring applications.

ObjectFinder detects user-specified email or IM addresses from anywhere within an TCP/IP packet carried over Ethernet (with simultaneous searching on up to 64,000 email addresses as well as maintaining monitoring of up to 64,000 simultaneous sessions).

Upon detection of an object (i.e. an email address), ObjectFinder will lock onto the user’s related session, by way of IP address and TCP port number, and transfer the entire session to the target monitor port(s) where the session is then externally forwarded to an analyzer or storage device. All traffic capture and transfer is done at the hardware level without any on-board data storage, thus avoiding unauthorised capture or storage of data.

VSS Monitoring taps with advanced features such as content filtering and agregation, media and rate conversion, and secure management, are an ideal way of implementing a secure monitoring infrastructure and gaining maximum flexibility in use of monitoring systems.
