Repairs and Calibration

Phoenix Datacom offer a top class repair and calibration service to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test and diagnostic equipment. We specialise in the repair and calibration of datacommunications test equipment, but maintain the capability of providing the same service for more general items such as Digital Volt Meters, Spectrum Analysers and Oscilloscopes.

Our Standards Laboratory in Aylesbury is accredited to BS EN 9000:1994, with a controlled environment of 23oC, < 70 % RH.

In addition to standard calibration carried out in our own laboratory, Phoenix Datacom offers customized services to meet customers' needs for on-site services. Contract customers have the option of a fully manged service with equipment histories and written advice of items due for re-calibration prior to expiry date

Training

Phoenix Datacom provides both standard training courses and tailored training courses to meet specific customer needs. The courses are practical in nature and cover techniques as well as product-specific training.

Consultancy Services

Phoenix Datacom, an HP OpenView Authorized Partner, is able to offer its customers assistance on network troubleshooting and network performance management issues. The main defined services are set out below:-

Network Traffic Baselining

This service provides a Phoenix Datacom engineer on customer site, with appropriate equipment, to measure and analyse traffic levels over an agreed period of time. A detailed written analysis is provided to act as a comparison baseline for future detection of trends in usage and unusual network activity. In addition to one-off baselining, the optional Quarterly baselining Service provides site visits at quarterly intervals to repeat the baselining measurements and provide a detailed commentary on trends and changes since the previous visit

Network Healthcheck

This service provides a Phoenix Datacom engineer on customer site, using a suitably configured Agilent Advisor, to analyse the current traffic on the network, report on any apparent problems, and assist the customer in identifying the possible cause of problems.

Network/Application Performance Baselining

This service provides a Phoenix Datacom engineer on customer site, using NetiQ Chariot and AppScanner software, to measure and analyse the performance of a network in terms of throughput and response time for specific application types between specific end-points. A detailed written analysis is provided to act as a comparison baseline for future detection of trends and anomalies in the performance of networked applications. The service may also be used to assist in pre-deployment testing of new networked applications. In addition to one-off performance tests, the optional Quarterly Performance Baselining Service provides visits at quarterly intervals to repeat the baselining measurements and provide a detailed commentary on trends and changes since the previous visit.
