TAP Series
As well as the intelligent manageable tapping solutions offered with the vBroker and Distributed Series. VSS also offer traditional basic taps for smaller network environments without the need for traffic grooming features and management.
Network TAPS
These taps are non-aggregating which means there are 2 output ports for the copy of traffic created for each network link being tapped, 1 output for the Tx and the other output for the Rx. There are many different types available in copper or all optical as well as media conversion taps.

Aggregation TAPS
Aggregation TAPS combine 1 or more network links into a single output port. This means the TX and RX is combined so the traffic flow in both directions is combined. This is particularly efficient for ad hoc trouble shooting with a laptop protocol analyser with only a single NIC available. There are many different types available in copper or all optical as well as media conversion taps.

Regeneration TAPS
Regeneration TAPS are mainly used for aiding with SPAN port contention. A single input can be replicated across multiple output ports to give multiple network monitoring devices access to the same traffic feed produced from the SPAN port. There are many different types available in copper or all optical as well as media conversion replicators.
