OTDR module for Sunrise Telecom Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) handheld tester
This "micro-OTDR" doesn't compromise on performance - it can locate fibre breaks, identify faults, estimate fibre attenuation, and verify back reflection.
The OTDR module is one of a suite of optical testing modules for the versatile SunSet MTT platform - a complete solution for Metro Networks, FTTx (PON) Networks and Enterprise Networks.
An "Auto Mode" makes the Micro OTDR module easy to use. With the push of a button, you can completely identify any faults and events along the fibre under test. In "Advanced Mode" you can customize the measurement parameters, such as pulse width, averaging, and distance range.

Luciol very high resolution photon-counting OTDR
The photon-counting Optical Time Domain Reflectometer is a high dynamic-range, short distance OTDR.
The photon counting OTDR is a specialist OTDR which allows the analysis of short optical networks (up to 40 km for single mode fibres, with measurements windows between 200 m and 800 m). It features a very high spatial resolution (in the centimetre range) - compared with a typical resolution of several metres for a standard OTDR - and can differentiate separate events only 10cm apart.

Optical Test Toolkit module for Sunrise Telecom (MTT) handheld tester
The Optical Test Toolkit Module for the MTT combines all of the tests needed to qualify optical fibre networks and identify faults including a bi-directional loss test, optical return loss, and visual fault locator. It provides stable laser sources and an accurate power meter for physical layer testing and qualifying the power attenuation in the fibre link or optical components. The Optical Return Loss (ORL) test ensures the signal's transmission qualify by checking for reflections from connectors or discontinuous interfaces. The Visual Fault Locator (VFL) offers the simplest way to check for breaks in the fibre path.
The OTT module is one of a suite of optical testing modules for the versatile SunSet MTT platform - a complete solution for Metro Networks, FTTx (PON) Networks and Enterprise Networks.

Fibre Microscope
The primary causes of increased insertion loss and poor optical measurements are dirty and/or damaged optical connectors in patchcords and bulkheads. The FS-1000 is an easy-to-use video fiber scope which can quickly provide an image of the connector on either a standalone, battery operated LCD monitor or on your PC via a USB adapter. The USB version provides .jpg, .bmp, and .pdf image capture, allowing the images to be saved for baseline referencing and verification.

CWDM/DWDM Optical Spectrum Analysers
|
Optical Channel Monitor module for Sunrise Telecom (MTT) handheld tester
To manage the explosion of metro service installations, the Optical Channel Monitor (OCM) modules offer low cost alternatives to optical spectrum analyzers for field technicians deploying CWDM and DWDM networks. The OCM modules provide key measurements including wavelength, power, OSNR and advanced features like power and wavelength drift detection.
The SunSet MTT presents a modular and expandable platform; the OCM module- along with Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and fibre Channel modules- is a complete toolkit for Metro networks

DWDM Module for Sunrise Telecom Scaleable Test Toolkit (STT) chassis
The DWDM Module tackles the toughest DWDM network installation and maintenance problems with ease. A spectrum display, wavelength drop, and wavelength converter is a one-two-three punch combination that can't be beat. The spectrum display across the C-Band and L-Band reveals physical layer problems with wavelength, power levels, and OSNR. Its fast spectrum scan takes less than 1.5 seconds, making network changes immediately apparent.
By transmitting on and dropping out individual DWDM channels, the STT DWDM brings the advantages and precision of BER testing to DWDM networks. Never before has such comprehensive payload analysis been possible from within the DWDM network. Use the wavelength drop feature in combination with the STT SONET/SDH or Ethernet test functions to dig into each channel. The wavelength converter feature saves a ton of money, since it's like having a channel card for each ITU-T 50GHz wavelength. The tunable laser source inserts a SONET/SDH, OTN or Ethernet signal onto the DWDM network to facilitate network construction and troubleshooting.

Chromatic Dispersion (CD) and Polarisation Mode Dispersion (PMD) testers
|
Dispersion Test Module for Sunrise Telecom Scaleable Test Toolkit (STT) chassis
As data rates reach and exceed 10 Gb/s and higher, dispersion analysis of fibre is critically important. With the Dispersion Test Module (DTM), users can now test single mode fibres quickly and easily for both Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) and Chromatic Dispersion (CD) in a single instrument. Simply plug-in the source at one end of the link to be tested, connect the receiver at the other, and you are ready for a complete dispersion analysis of the fibre in less than 1 minute.
Sunrise's DTM uses photon counting technology and direct time of flight measurement of the group delay at each wavelength to determine Chromatic Dispersion. Photon counting technology allows for much lower intensity optical pulses. This means shorter pulses and narrower filters can be used giving greater accuracy in terms of time and wavelength. Photon counting is uniquely adapted to give this advantage to the ITU approved pulse delay method.
Simple PMD measurement can also be done on this module via the ITU-approved fixed-analyzer method.
